Owing to the Big Walk (and thanks to those of you who stuck with those more analogue updates), I had not watched much TV for a month, so I came back with a long list of shows to catch up on. Most of those shows have ended up being not fun at all. I don't know if television is in a blue period right now, or if it reflects a general state of horror at the world, or if I'm just choosing big splashy stuff that is resolutely bleak, but I was surprised at how miserable and joyless big showpiece TV is at the moment.
